Thomas Edwin “Hodge” Hodges, Sr. was born January 25, 1928 in Centreville, Mississippi to Thomas James (Tommie) and Corrie (Smylie) Hodges. He died peacefully, with his son by his side, and welcomed into heaven by his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and his loving wife, Fannie, on September 28, 2026.
Growing up, he spent many days on Lake Mary, taking advantage of fishing and hunting. Hodge graduated from Centreville High School in 1947 in Centreville, MS. Following high school, Hodge joined the Marines and had multiple scholarship offers to play football upon his discharge including University of Tennessee, Ole Miss and Mississippi State.
Hodge married his childhood sweetheart, Ms Fannie Eugenia McKey on October 23, 1948 and had 70 wonderful years of marriage before her passing in 2019.
Hodge built a career with Coca-Cola Baton Rouge. He began as a junior salesman in 1950 and held nearly every position imaginable, including Manager of the McComb, MS plant from 1980 to 1986. He spent many days delivering his route throughout Baton Rouge and surrounding areas. Even after his retirement, he worked under contract, going out on “Coke Calls” to contact customers with special concerns. The many stories and relationships are legendary. Hodge prided himself on the relationships that he built, and everyone knew who to call when they needed a job or a favor.
Hodge was preceded in death by his wife, Fannie, his parents, and his sisters Edna Snody and Hazel Duck and his brother, James Alton. He is survived by his only child, his faithful & dutiful son, Edwin “Ed” Hodges and wife, Susan, his grandchildren, Aimee Roquet (Eric) and Tommy Hodges and his beautiful great grandson, Jace Thomas Roquet, all of College Station, Texas and many nieces and nephews.
