Judy Kay Martin Ragsdale

Judy Kay Martin Ragsdale was born June 17, 1961, and passed away at her residence on June 16, 2026. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Quinton L. Ragsdale; her son, Jessie D. Ragsdale (Kacy); her grandchildren, Madison and Caydence Ragsdale, and Kaitlyn Forbes; her sisters, Jeanie Hoyt, Sandi Cavin, and Karen Hamilton; five nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and her best “ride or die” friend, Shawnee Stewart. She is preceded in death by her father, David E. Martin and mother, Annette Roy, and J.C. and Anne Martin, who were like second parents to her. Judy retired from Angola Louisiana State Penitentiary with 26 years of service – where many of her co-workers were like a second family. A few of her nicknames were “Miss Country” and “Half Pint”. Judy was a lifelong, die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan, who loved spending time with family and friends, and especially her granddaughters. She loved frogs and the Smurfs and her favorite flower was the yellow rose. Two things you could hear Judy say often were “just sayin’ and that’s right.”

Visitation will be held at Newman Funeral Home in Woodville on Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until time of the celebration of life service at 11:00 a.m.
