Carl Martin “Marty” Regel, 79, a native & resident of Amite County, Mississippi died Friday, July 31, 2026, surrounded by his family at Forrest General Hospital in Hattiesburg, MS. He was born in Centreville, MS on March 16, 1947.
Visitation will be at Thomson Memorial Presbyterian Church on Main Street in Centreville, MS, Tuesday, August 4, 9:00 AM until religious services at 11:00 AM conducted by Rev. Eric Greene. Interment at Bethany Presbyterian Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Eric Greene under the direction of Newman Funeral Home.
Marty is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sherry, daughter Sara McDaniel (Joe) of Centreville and daughter Anna Robertson (Chad) of Plaquemine, LA, grandchildren Emma Grace & Abigail Faith Bieker of Centreville and Cadence & Chance Robertson of Plaquemine, LA. He is also survived by one brother Lew Regel (Johnine) of Centreville & numerous cousins and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents Carl William & Dora Katherine Regel & one brother Miller Gallent Regel.
Marty attended Co-Lin Community College and was a U.S. Navy Veteran having served two tours in Vietnam. He retired from the Louisiana Department of Corrections.
He was a loving husband, Daddy, and Big Poppa but first and foremost he loved his Heavenly Father and all Christian music and hymns.
He was a great aggravator, agitator, and piddler. He loved growing all kinds of plants and trees and loved any dirt moving equipment. In other words, a very simple, loving man who will be missed dearly!
Pallbearers will be Joe McDaniel, Chad Robertson, Chance Robertson, Mark Mann, Terry Mann, Dedric Morris, Allan Morris, Cliff Gallent.
Honorary Pallbearers are Mike Mann & Conway Bates.
