Aubrey Lloyd Kirkland, Sr.

July 6, 1945 – June 24, 2026

Aubry Lloyd Kirkland, Sr., 80, of Centreville, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2026, at the Louisiana War Veterans Home.

Born on July 6, 1945, in Centreville, Lloyd was the son of Aubrey and Myona Kirkland, who preceded him in death.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam era.

Lloyd worked for many years as a machinist; a profession well suited to his mechanical mind and ability to work with his hands.  He had a gift for solving problems and finding practical solutions, and he took pride in doing a job right.

Away from work, Lloyd enjoyed playing pool and spent many years competing in the local APA league.  He appreciated the competition, the friendships, and the conversations that came with the game.  He also valued time spent with family and lifelong friends.

Lloyd is survived by his sons, Al Kirkland and his wife, Crystal, and Scott Kirkland and his wife, Tiffany; his daughter, Holly Brumfield and her husband, Victor; and Nancy Jordan, the mother of his three children.

He was a grandfather to Alexis Kirkland, Connor Kirkland, Caleb Passman, Beau Passman and Jay Kirkland, and a great-grandfather to Collins Michaels, Roy Michaels, and Ellie Johnson.

The family extends its sincere appreciation to the physicians, nurses, and caregivers who cared for Lloyd during his final months, especially the staff of Field Health System and the Louisiana War Veterans Home, for the compassion, dignity, and kindness they showed him.

A graveside service celebrating Loyd's life will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Oaklawn Cemetery in Centreville, Mississippi, under the direction of Newman Funeral Home.
